Bowen Ready To Put Rough Rattler Weekend Behind Him
Bowen Rebounded To Top 10 After Early Incident

Everything went great for Anderson Bowen on Saturday night at South Alabama Speedway (AL) during qualifying for the Rattler 250, when the Suwanee, Georgia driver claimed the pole for Sunday's Southern Super Series season opener.

But while the start of the race didn't go so well, Bowen was able to rebound to a strong top-10 finish.

Bowen was tagged from behind in the opening laps, which set off a 15-car pileup and ended several contenders' days.  Fortunately for Bowen, his day was not over and he was able to rally back for an eighth-place result.

"What happened at the start of the race was unfortunate, but I'm proud of the way all of my guys rebounded to get us a solid top-10 finish," said Bowen.  "We could have just given up then.  Instead, we kept fighting."

Bowen's run was derailed on the first lap of the race when another driver got into the back of his no. 29 machine going into turn three.  He managed to escape the incident without much damage.

"I cleared him going into three and he just squared my rear bumper up and spun us around," Bowen said.  "Thankfully we didn't get any damage on the car but we were starting up front and it sure did ruin that."

Bowen now turns his attention to the season opener for the CARS Super Late Model Tour at Southern National Motorsports Park (NC), where he hopes to put the Rattler behind him.

"It is a tough way to start the season but we had a fast car there at the end," he said.  "We'll move on to the next one.  I think we're going to Southern National for the CARS Tour opener so hopefully we can come out on top there."
