Bowen Rebounds to an 11th Place Finish at SpeedFest 2015
Kicks Off 2015 Season in his Home State

Anderson Bowen started his 2015 season this past weekend at SpeedFest 2015 at Watermelon Capital Speedway in Cordele, Georgia.  After starting 14th, he was hoping to come through the field but a mid-race incident slowed that charge to an 11th place finish.

“We took is easy in first half of the 100-lap race.  The car was a little loose coming off the corners, but it wasn’t bad,” Anderson said.  “During the break, we were able to make some adjustments that we thought could help in the second half, but we got caught up in a wreck right after the green flag.”

When the field took the green for the second half, Chase Elliott had a right front tire problem and slowed up causing an accordion through the field.  Bowen had some front-end damage.  But his crew was able to make repairs and get him back out.

“We really didn’t get a chance to see if the changes worked for us after the break.  We basically had nowhere to go and the hood was pushed up on my car after that wreck,” Bowen recalled.  “Wasn’t much we could do, it was just a racing incident.  But we were able to come back through and finish 11th.”

Watermelon Capital Speedway has been a struggle for Bowen, but it was a good test for his team as they kick off a busy 2015 season schedule.

“We are still putting together a complete schedule for this year, but you will see us as most of the big short track events,” Bowen said.  “I think this will be a fun year for us.”

Bowen said they have not confirmed when their next event at this time, but hope to announce it soon.
